Louis Guillemette Pain Au BananeDine Alone Foods

INGREDIENTS:

· 2-3 very ripe bananas, peeled

· 1/3 cup of melted butter

· 1 cup of sugar

· 1 egg, beaten

· 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

· 1 teaspoon of baking soda

· 1 cup of chocolate

· 1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour

· Pinch of salt

· Caramel squares

DIRECTIONS:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)

2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth

3. Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas

4. Mix in baking soda and salt

5. Stir in the sugar, beaten egg and vanilla extract

6. Mix in the flour

7. Don't forget to put the chocolate chips in the mix (it's the best part)

8. Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes (check at 50 minutes) at 350°F (175°C) , or until a tester inserted into the centre comes out clean. PS - 10 minutes before the cooking ends, I'll put caramel on top of the bread to make a little crunchy crust

9. Remove from over and cool completely on a rack

Here you go, my infamous banana bread recipe that I basically took from the internet and added a couple of other ingredients. If I remember correctly, this all started when I was jamming with one of my bandmates in Plus Minus: Simon-Hugues. I was just thinking of how good it would be to put ROLO minis into banana bread. So I added chocolate and caramel to a banana bread recipe. It was amazing. This goes out to my #1 banana bread fan Balloo, the DA crew, Michael Heavy-Trip & Family.
